Project structure

  1. Challenge

State Environmental Service staff needed to refresh their knowledge of the investigation and remediation process for contaminated sites, revisit the principles set out in the guidelines and strengthen their day-to-day competences. Drilling, sampling and remediation systems needed to be demonstrated in practice in the field to deepen understanding of what the guidelines set out.

  2. Solution

The training explained the practical use of the guidelines, the investigation algorithm and the sequence of remediation supervision. Participants analysed real examples, improved their argumentation when working with businesses, clarified the boundaries of responsibility between the State Environmental Service's central office and its regional boards, and drew up recommendations for improving legislation and licensing requirements.

  3. Result

The training was attended by 86 State Environmental Service staff from all regional boards, who gained a common understanding of the investigation and remediation process for contaminated sites. Practical field training was organised to demonstrate drilling, sampling and remediation systems, significantly strengthening professional conduct and cooperation in site supervision.
